 Drawings
It is hard to find form in the night sky. The vast scale and depth it presents is overwhelming and yet each gazer can pierce through the immensity and find passages of clarity. What gives tangibility and shape to the infinite reflects the seen but is dictated by the one who sees.
My ink drawings are created in a parallel process, striking an entropic balance out of a crazed weave of lines contained by a resonant profile. Evasive yet intentional, I build each drawing with countless, indiscernible layers. A density and rhythm ensues, revealing dimension and form that slowly takes its place on the paper’s surface. Simultaneously, the abstract shape becomes both a portal and a mass onto itself, communicating time and depth while remaining open to popular interpretations that exist in the current visual environment.
