 Paintings
Paintings work on many levels. The organic dialogue between scale, light, and distance, and its resonance with the human condition, becomes the work of color in my paintings. I rely on the physical conditions and optical sensations found in nature without directly quoting their likeness. Developing a complex orchestration of variable chromatic triads and neutral hues (no two colors are identical with one exception), I work to create a visual dynamic that unendingly shifts and changes. Variation is not only used simultaneously as both a technique and a method of vision but also as a foundation for interpretation.
